Last season on The Mandalorian, an enigmatic figure found Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) after she was left for dead on Tatooine. Fans immediately guessed that it was Boba Fett, and apparently they were right. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Temuera Morrison has signed on to play Boba Fett in The Mandalorian‘s second season.
Morrison portrayed Boba’s father, Jango Fett, in Attack of the Clones. Despite Jango’s death, Morrison also played the Clone troopers in that movie and its sequel, Revenge of the Sith. The prequel trilogy revealed that Boba Fett is a clone of his father who was allowed to age normally. In Return of the Jedi, Boba Fett met an untimely end in the Sarlacc Pit. In the post-Disney era, Boba Fett’s death remained in place until now.
THR also notes that Boba Fett “is expected to play just a small role in season two.” But it also suggests that there will be a showdown between Boba Fett and Pedro Pascal’s Mandalorian at some point.

The Mandalorian season 2 will hit Disney+ in October.
