Film fans were waiting for some good news lately, and here it is. Deadline reports that Universal Pictures has come up with a safety plan to resume production on Jurassic World: Dominion at Pinewood Studios on July 6. The plan will cost roughly $5M and will include on-site doctors and 150 hand sanitizer stations. Actors and crew will have to follow some harsh protocols to meet the required safety standards. The ones traveling from the U.S. will have to take a test before leaving the country. They will also have to carry out a two-week quarantine per new government regulations.

The Universal production executive who spoke with Deadline explained that anyone showing symptoms on the set would be isolated and sent home as soon as possible.
“We want to make sure that we are going above and beyond the national protocols to create a safe environment,” he stated. “Cost isn’t our main concern now: it’s safety. We will take direction from our medical team, but we’re confident that with the staggered scheduling and zones of talent and crew, along with a system of contact tracing, we can move forward with limited delay in production.”
The good news came after the British government greenlighted film productions to restart shooting in the long process that they are undertaking to leave the national lockdown behind. Fans can expect that other U.K. sets — has anyone said The Batman? — will resume filming soon.
Jurassic World: Dominion opens in theaters on June 11, 2021.
