Legends of Tomorrow Promotes Shayan Sobhian to Series Regular

The Waverider is going to be a lot more crowded when Legends of Tomorrow returns to The CW next year. Entertainment Weekly brings word that Shayan Sobhian has been upped to series regular for the show’s upcoming sixth season.

Sobhian made his Arrowverse debut as Behrad Tarazi (Zari’s younger brother) in Legends’ fourth season finale. In the original timeline, Behrad was a vigilante who fought against A.R.G.U.S. forces using a magical amulet. Unfortunately, he was caught and killed in 2042. But when the Legends changed history, they made it so that he joined the team in place of Zari, who instead became an internet celebrity. The most recent season saw Behrad die again at the hands of the Fates. However, the Legends were able to resurrect him with a little help from the new timeline’s Zari.

Co-showrunner also explained how Legends’ next season will continue exploring the relationship between Behrad and “Zari 2.0.”

“They haven’t really existed in that bro-sis [place],” Klemmer told EW. “Like, I want some bickering siblings on this show. That was the promise of bringing Behrad onto the show. We haven’t given them a chance to just exist as co-equal adult siblings, and that’s really fascinating to me — like how people bring their baggage from their childhood.”

“I just want to get them to that neutral space and see how they deal with sharing a totem,” added Klemmer. “You know, figure out what version of Wonder Twin powers are.”

Legends of Tomorrow will premiere its sixth season on The CW in 2021.
