There’s a new Scarlet Knight coming to Gotham City in Batwoman season 2. Earlier this week, Javicia Leslie was officially cast as Ryan Wilder, the next woman to take up the mantle of Batwoman. Ruby Rose’s Kate Kane is being written out of the series following her departure. However, Rose was among the first to congratulate Leslie for her new role. Rose also shared a post on Instagram, where she praised the “amazing cast and crew. Additionally, Rose pledged to keep watching the series after Leslie takes over.

Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries has previously indicated that Kate Kane will not be recast or killed off. She also said that the mystery of Kate’s fate will be a major storyline in season 2. However, it’s unclear if Rose is open to reprising her role on the series down the road.
The CW is expected to premiere Batwoman season 2 in early 2021.
