Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, The Walking Dead season 10 had wrapped all of its episodes except the finale. Now, season 10’s lost episode is finally ready to be seen on Sunday, October 4. However, the episode in question is no longer the season finale.
During The Walking Dead‘s Comic-Con@Home panel, showrunner Angela King revealed that AMC has extended the 10th season. There will be six additional episodes of TWD season 10 in early 2021. However, that announcement came with some bad news as well. The upcoming 11th season of The Walking Dead will be delayed beyond its traditional October premiere. And there’s no telling when the series will be able to resume its normal production.

AMC also debuted the first few minutes of the episode that almost closed out season 10. It features the end of the Whisperer War, as Beta unleashes the biggest herd of walkers to date. Within the clip, the surviving heroes prepare for the battle. Additionally, Lauren Cohan’s Maggie Reed finally learns what’s been happening in her absence. Cohan also confirmed during the panel that Maggie is officially “back.”
