The Walking Dead: World Beyond Gets a New Trailer and Premiere Date

Growing up is never easy, especially if you’re the first generation to come of age during the zombie apocalypse. AMC is hoping to show viewers what that’s like when The Walking Dead: World Beyond hits the small screen. AMC’s next Walking Dead spinoff was originally targeting an April debut before COVID-19 got in the way. But now, the network has released a new trailer for the series that confirms its new fall premiere date.

Just like with prior teasers, this latest trailer highlights the show’s young cast and the angst their characters feel after being robbed of their chance for a normal life. World Beyond picks up in Nebraska a decade after the zombie outbreak started. And as Aliyah Royale’s Iris notes, the teens will have to figure out how to live for themselves while also fighting for humanity’s survival. Unfortunately, Iris will have to take on even more responsibility when her father runs into trouble of his own.

What follows is a cross-country journey that will bring Iris and her friends face-to-face with allies, enemies, and of course, hordes of the undead. Some of these encounters are previewed in the show’s new trailer. Plus, there’s even a highly-relatable moment where Nicolas Cantu’s Elton is shown wearing a protective mask.

AMC previously announced that World Beyond tells a self-contained story that will only last two seasons. The network has also used Comic-Con@Home to provide new updates on other shows set in the Walking Dead universe. Producers of the flagship Walking Dead series just announced that the next episode of the show’s 10th season will air on October 4. Additionally, Fear the Walking Dead will begin its sixth season on October 11.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond will premiere on October 4 at 10pm on AMC.
