Hell Comes to the Marvel Universe in the First Trailer For Hulu’s Helstrom

Marvel Television as we once knew it no longer exists, but the studio has managed to produce one last offering before vanishing into the ether. Although virtually all of Marvel’s small-screen shows are heading to Disney+, the long-awaited Helstrom series is making its way to Hulu. Now, the show’s first trailer has just premiered online.

Helstrom is pretty far-removed from the typical Marvel fare, so much so that the company’s famous flipping pages logo is nowhere to be found in this new trailer. The show centers on Daimon and Ana Helstrom, a brother and sister who harbor a dark secret. When they go to visit their mother in an asylum, they discover that she “set something loose on this world” that doesn’t belong. The series, which comes from showrunner Paul Zbyszewski, will feature the sibling duo flirting with occultism and demons as they hunt the worst examples of humanity.

Tom Austen and Sydney Lemmon will headline the show as Daimon and Ana, respectively. Elizabeth Marvel co-stars as their mother, Victoria; and she seems primed to steal a few scenes of her own. It remains to be seen whether Helstrom can survive without any proper Marvel branding or connection to the MCU. But if it succeeds, it might open the door for Marvel to expand its relationship with Hulu after the cancellation of Runaways and a planned Ghost Rider series that didn’t even make it past the post-production stage.

All 10 episodes of Helstrom’s first season will debut on Hulu on October 16. You can check out the new trailer for the series below.
