It will be a day long remembered…because Disney+ revealed that ten Star Wars series are planned for the next few years. Two of the new shows were announced right away during the Disney Investors Day. Spinning out of The Mandalorian are Star Wars: Ahsoka and Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic.
Both shows will also take place concurrently with The Mandalorian. Rosario Dawson will reprise her role as Ahsoka Tano for this limited series. Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau are executive producing the series. However, Filoni will be writing the series for the heroine he previously guided through Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. Ahoska’s recent appearance in The Mandaloiran suggested that she is targeting Grand Admiral Thrawn. Additionally, the final episode of Rebels hinted that Ahsoka was also searching for Ezra Bridger, a young Jedi who disappeared while thwarting Thrawn’s plans.

Kathleen Kennedy also hinted that all three series are building towards a larger story. Regardless, fans will have to wait until Christmas 2021 to see the next chapter begin. But the good news is that Disney and Lucasfilm are building three new Volume stages around the world. That proprietary technology will allow the studios to produce more Star Wars shows on an accelerated basis.
