Amazon’s The Boys does its best to honor the envelope-pushing nature of the comic that inspired it. Regardless, the show tends to play things a little bit safer than its source material. So it might come as a shock that one of the comic’s most risqué storylines is getting its own episode in season 3. Showrunner Erik Kripke previously teased that the infamous Herogasm arc would make its way into the new season. And earlier today, he took to Twitter to share the title page for the sixth episode. Check it out for yourself below.
From day one, everyone dared me to make this episode. CHALLENGE MET MOTHERFUCKERS#TheBoys #TheBoysTV @TheBoysTV @PrimeVideo @SPTV #SPNFamily @Sethrogen @evandgoldberg pic.twitter.com/q4pAMZWZDl

The Boys: Herogasm was actually a six-issue spinoff published separately from the main series and served as Garth Ennis and artist John McCrea’s sendup of annual comic book crossovers. The story begins with Homelander announcing that he and his fellow “heroes” are leaving Earth to fight an alien menace. But unbeknownst to the public, the supes are really headed to an island resort, where the titular event is happening. There, they take part in a debaucherous weekend filled with gratuitous sex and drug use, which The Boys must infiltrate to find new dirt on Vought.

Of course, the TV version is bound to make a few changes to the original storyline. But it should be fun to see how much Amazon lets the show’s producers get away with. It also looks like “Herogasm” marks the series debut of writer Jessica Chou, who previously worked on Netflix’s Wu Assassins.
Herogasm isn’t the only thing that fans of The Boys have to look forward to when the show returns. Last year, Kripke revealed that season 3 will also introduce The Seven’s rivals in Payback, another superhero team. In the comics, the team is led by Soldier Boy, who will be played by Jensen Ackles on the TV show.
The Boys season 3 will begin production sometime in the next month. Amazon Prime still hasn’t shared a release date for the new episodes.
