Ruby Rose Praises Wallis Days’ Recasting as Kate Kane in Batwoman

It appears that there are no hard feelings between former Batwoman star Ruby Rose and Wallis Days. Rose portrayed both Kate Kane and her masked alter-ego in the freshman season of the show. After Rose left the series, The CW recast Days for the role of Bruce Wayne’s cousin while the cape and cowl of Gotham’s Scarlet Knight passed to a completely different person, Ryan Wilder. After Days’ Kate Kane was introduced in the latest installment of the show, Rose took to her socials to congratulate her fellow actress.

“I’m sorry I didn’t congratulate Wallis Days yesterday,” Rose wrote on Instagram (via Deadline). “I knew about the casting beforehand and didn’t know when it aired so I forgot to. But I’m stoked for her! I’m seeing all the things I’m tagged in with people sad or wondering how I felt… I feel great I have nothing but good vibes.”

Ruby Rose’s stint as Batwoman in The CW’s series lasted shorter than fans expected. The actress left the show ahead of Season 2 after making her Arrowverse debut as Kate Kate in the Elseworlds crossover of late 2018. The actress’s exit from the show came out of the blue two days after the series concluded its first season. Rose explained that the reason behind her choice came after a meeting with the producers shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic broke out.

The next episode of Batwoman Season 2 will debut on The CW on March 28.
