HBO Max’s Titans series is going reintroduce another member of Batman’s rogues gallery. Via Variety, Vincent Kartheiser has been cast Dr. Jonathan Crane a.k.a. Scarecrow. The official Twitter account for Titans also confirmed the news, which you can see below.
The streets are never safe from the Prince of Panic … even if he is locked away in Arkham. Please welcome Vincent Kartheiser as Dr. Jonathan Crane! #DCTitans pic.twitter.com/8RrMsJSChM

As noted by Variety, “Crane is an inmate at Arkham Asylum who used to terrorize Gotham City using toxins to exploit his enemies’ phobias.” However, we suspect that Crane will find a way to break free during his time on the show. Cillian Murphy previously played Scarecrow in The Dark Knight trilogy, while David W. Thompson portrayed an alternate version of Scarecrow in Gotham.

Kartheiser previously starred as Pete Campbell in AMC’s Mad Men. However, he is best known among genre fans for playing Connor on Angel. Additionally, Kartheiser has appeared in Saints & Sinners, the Das Boot TV adaptation, and The OA.
Titans season 3 is currently production through June. Regardless, HBO Max has not set a premiere date yet.
