Invincible Episode 8 – What Did You Think?!

Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Invincible episode 8!

It’s the end of the road for Invincible season 1. Amazon Prime has released the first season finale of Invincible, and we want to know what the Superhero Hype community thinks about it!

After Nolan/Omni-Man kills the Immortal again, his son, Mark/Invincible, listens in disbelief as Nolan explains himself. It turns out that the Viltrumites are conquerors, not saviors. And it’s also Nolan’s job to prepare Earth to become a part of the Viltrumite Empire. That’s why Nolan killed the Guardians of the Globe, to pave the way for his people. However, Mark refuses to join his father. He is also offended when Nolan says that he loves his wife, Debbie, “like a pet.”

Unfortunately for Mark, the subsequent battle with Nolan is very one-sided. Nolan devastates Chicago while tossing Mark around, leaving countless civilians dead. Additionally, Nolan beats Mark senseless and leaves him lying. But before Nolan can go further, he remembers raising Mark with Debbie. That “human” memory haunts Nolan, and he flees the planet and the solar system.

In the aftermath, the new Guardians of the Globe come together as a team. While Mark recovers from his ordeal, Cecil tells Debbie that he’s faked Nolan’s death to maintain the family’s protection. But it can’t take the sting out of Nolan’s betrayal.

When Mark recovers, Amber visits him and rekindles their relationship. William and Eve also stop by to cheer him up. But soon enough, Cecil orders Mark to intercept Allen the Alien in space. Allen warns Mark that the Viltrumite Empire will return to Earth. Allen suggests that Mark’s experience may help the Coalition of Planets’ fight against the Viltrumites. But for now, Mark decides to finish high school before deciding his next step.

Invincible‘s first season is streaming now on Amazon Prime.
