Lucasfilm Announces Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 at Disney+

It appears that fans will see the Clone Force 99 in action at least one more time. Recently, StarWars.com announced that Star Wars: The Bad Batch would return for a sophomore season, as the first one prepares to end in a two-parter that begins tonight at midnight and concludes Aug 13. Next year, Hunter, Echo, Tech, Wrecker, Crosshair and Omega will return on Disney+ with a brand new series of adventures. The show started as a standalone adventure for the characters introduced in The Clone Wars. However, the story has begun to tie in to many other Star Wars installments.

“Fans have enthusiastically embraced the action and drama of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and we are excited to see the Star Wars animated universe continue to expand on Disney+,” said Michael Paull, president of Disney+ and ESPN+, in a press release. “As the dedicated streaming home for the Star Wars franchise, we can’t wait for the second season of this fan-favorite animated series.”

The show introduced some exciting new characters like Omega, who turned out to be a direct clone of Jango Fett. At the same time, hardcore fans also saw a few familiar faces from Star Wars: The Clone Wars like Cad Bane. Or younger versions of Star Wars: Rebels characters like Hera and Chopper. Fans can expect Dee Bradley Baker to return to voice all the Bad Batch members in the upcoming season.

“The entire Lucasfilm Animation team and I would like to thank Disney + and our fans for the opportunity to continue telling the story of the Bad Batch,” stated executive producer Dave Filoni.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 2 will launch somewhere in 2022.
