Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Hawkeye episode 5!
If you’ve spent the last three years cursing Netflix for canceling Daredevil, chances are you’re having a pretty good week. On Wednesday, Hawkeye’s penultimate episode confirmed long-standing rumors that Vincent D’Onofrio is reprising his role as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Although there was only a grainy surveillance photo of Fisk, he will play a major role in the upcoming season finale. And no one seems more excited about this than Kate Bishop actress Hailee Steinfeld. Hawkeye’s Hailee Steinfeld.
Steinfeld teased that Kate will have her own face-to-face meet-up with Fisk during a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly. She also discussed what it was like to act alongside D’Onofrio on the series.
“It’s a very different experience standing underneath Vincent and hearing him,” said Steinfeld. “To be in his presence is really something. I’ve been a fan of his for a very long time. It’s always amazing to be a part of something with people that you really admire. I’m excited to see people watch it unfold.”

“This is somebody that [Kate] doesn’t know much about, but she’s been warned,” continued Steinfeld. “She knows everything she needs to know when she hears Clint say ‘this is the guy I’ve been worried about the whole time.’ That right there is enough for her to need to come to her senses and figure out how to handle the situation. If it didn’t feel real before, it’s real now. After all the partner talk and jokes that have been thrown around, now she has the opportunity to step up to the plate.”
Hawkeye will wrap up its six-episode first season on Wednesday, December 22.
