The CW is Developing Justice U For David Ramsey’s John Diggle

Arrow may be over, but one of the show’s original stars may come back to headline a new Arrowverse series. Deadline is reporting that a new DC show is in development at The CW. It’s called Justice U, and it will feature David Ramsey’s John Diggle as the main character.

According to Deadline, the series will chronicle Diggle’s story as he recruits “five young meta humans to live undercover as freshmen at a prestigious university.” Diggle will be their primary instructor at the university while secretly training them to become “the heroes of tomorrow.”

Ramsey will not only star in the potential series, he will also helm the pilot episode if it gets picked up. Ramsey previously directed several episodes across the Arrowverse, including a few from his return as a guest star last year.

In the final episode of Arrow, Diggle came across an object from space that fans assumed to be a Green Lantern ring. After refusing the object’s “offer,” Diggle sought treatment for the physical and mental side effects during his guest stints on Supergirl, The Flash, Batwoman, and Superman & Lois. Presumably the new series will also follow up on that. However, the space object is very unlikely to actually be a Green Lantern ring, especially with a Green Lantern series in the works at HBO Max.

Superman & Lois co-executive producer Michael Narducci created Justice U, and he will be the showrunner if it goes forward. Deadline’s report also states that Ramsey will direct other Arrowverse series and make additional guest appearances.
