After watching the possessed Locke use the forged diary to frame him, Peacemaker/Chris Smith instantly realizes that Leota Adebayo betrayed him. Regardless, he recruits Vigilante/Adrian Chase and John Economos to go with him to take out the alien cow. Shortly thereafter, Emilia Harcourt confronts Leota about her actions and realizes that she’s Amanda Waller’s daughter. Clemson Murn defuses their conflict, but he is soon murdered by the butterfly possessed police officers.
On the road to the cow’s hiding place, White Dragon/Auggie Smith and his white supremacist followers ambush Chris, Adrian, and Economos. Adrian recklessly sets off a grenade, which allows Chris and Economos to slip away into the woods. They also figure out that Auggie is tracking them through Peacemaker’s helmets.

Back at the hotel, Judomaster attacks Harcourt and Leota before they manage to subdue him. Elsewhere, Adrian steals a car from the white supremacists and almost passes out at the wheel before he reunites with Chris and Economos. Unfortunately, Auggie catches up to them before they can get too far away. Eagly is injured by Auggie, but Adrian manages to damage his armor while Economos kills the white supremacists. Auggie dares Chris to kill him, and he does. But this is one death that reduces Chris to tears.
Team Peacemaker reunites at a veterinarian office where Eagly is treated for his wounds. Leota also witnesses Eagly hugging Chris, and she takes it as a sign to stay with the team. However, Chris does not forgive her for planting the fake diary in his home. Afterwards, the team chooses Harcourt as its new leader. She decides that the team needs to rush to the cow before it is teleported away. At that moment, the possessed Detective Song arrives at the cow’s location with the teleportation equipment. We also see that the “cow” is a giant alien larva.
Peacemaker episode 8 will premiere on HBO Max on Thursday, February 17.
