It’s been almost 17 years since Ewan McGregor played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the flesh, but his highly anticipated return is almost here. Disney+ and Lucasfilm have released the first teaser trailer for their latest Star Wars miniseries, Obi-Wan Kenobi. And it looks like dark times are ahead for Tatooine.
Within the footage, Obi-Wan is doing his best to simply blend in and survive. There’s also a distant glimpse of Luke Skywalker as a child, since this takes place ten years after Revenge of the Sith. Darth Vader is noticeably absent from the clips, but there are plenty of Inquistors. Fans of Star Wars Rebels may recognize a few. Moses Ingram’s Reva is the most prominent Inquistor. And she may finally find her target.
Between darkness and defeat, hope survives.

The trailer also reveals that Indira Varma is playing an Imperial officer, while Luke’s adoptive uncle, Owen Lars (Joel Edgerton), may find himself more involved with the troubles on Tatooine than he would have liked.
Hayden Christensen will also return in this series as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, and the famous “Duel of the Fates” theme seems to promise another showdown with his former master and friend.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on May 25, the 45th anniversary of the original Star Wars.
