There’s so much Star Trek on Paramount+ that it’s easy to forget that it wasn’t always this way. It used to be a big deal when Captain Kirk and the crew of the Enterprise found new planets and distant civilizations. There was a sense of grandeur that’s been missing, and it’s back in a big way in the first teaser trailer for Star Trek: Strange New Worlds. This is just a small sample of what’s to come, but it really does a great job of capturing the feel of old school Star Trek.
Within the teaser, we see that Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) may have taken some time away from Starfleet after Star Trek: Discovery 2. Witnessing his own dark fate may have been traumatic for Pike. Regardless, nothing can keep him from the stars for long. And the original Enterprise crew will finally have a show of their own.
