Sean Gunn is set to voice two characters in DC Studios’ upcoming series Creature Commandos, where he’ll take on the role of Weasel and G.I. Robot.
What does Sean Gunn think of Creature Commandos?
In an interview with Comic Book Movie, Gunn spoke about the upcoming series and his role as G.I. Robot. The actor noted that he loves the show, and that the scripts have been “so good.”
“I love that project,” Gunn said. “The scripts are so good and we’ve already been doing a little recording which is fun. I can hint and tease that we’re going to learn a little more about Weasel which is going to be interesting.”
When it comes to G.I. Robot, Gunn said he loves the character, and teased that the character is driven by his hatred of Nazis, which is something Gunn relates to.
“I just love GI Robot so much. He’s driven by one thing and one thing only, which is his hatred of Nazis and his desire to kill as many Nazis as possible,” said Gunn. “So, for me, as somebody who hates fascism in all its forms, I can relate to somebody who wants to get out there and put the smackdown on some Nazis.”
Creature Commandos is set to premiere in 2024 as one of the first new DC Universe entries by co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. Just recently, Gunn stated that the show had started production and was almost done with the casting process.
While not too much is known about the series, the roles of the characters have been revealed, with David Harbour voicing Eric Frankenstein, a version of the iconic monster. Indira Varma will voice the Bride of Frankenstein, the show’s main character. Grillo will play the role of Rick Flag Sr., the father of Joel Kinnaman’s character from The Suicide Squad. Chao will voice Nina Mazursky, an amphibious scientist. Alongside Weasel, Sean Gunn will also voice the role of G.I. Robot, and Tudyk will play Doctor Phosphorus.
