Good Omens Season 3 Confirmed, Will Conclude Neil Gaiman Series

The Ineffable Plan will allow Good Omens a third and final season.

Radio Times confirmed the renewal of the Prime Video series. It also reported the comments of Neil Gaiman regarding the new season and its story. Gaiman co-wrote the original Good Omens novel with Sir Terry Pratchett in 1990 and curated the production of the Prime Video adaptation to honor Pratchett’s deathbed request.

“Terry was determined that if we made Good Omens for television, we could take the story all the way to the end,” Gaiman explained. While the first season faithfully adapted the novel, the second season drew from their plans for a sequel they never had time to write. “I’m so happy finally to be able to finish the story Terry and I plotted.”

What Will Good Omens Season 3 Involve?

“Season 1 was all about averting Armageddon, dangerous prophecies, and the End of the World. Season 2 was sweet and gentle, although it may have ended less joyfully than a certain Angel and Demon might have hoped,” Gaiman recalled.

“Now in Season 3, we will deal once more with the end of the world. The plans for Armageddon are going wrong. Only Crowley and Aziraphale working together can hope to put it right. And they aren’t talking.”

It is unclear just how soon Good Omens Season 3 will begin production, much less when it might be released. Gaiman previously confirmed that Season 3 was “all planned and plotted,” and the only reason he hadn’t scripted it was due to the WGA strike. Prime Video also must confirm the availability of series leads Michael Sheen and David Tennant before filming can begin.

Good Omens Seasons 1 and 2, each consisting of six episodes, are available to stream now on Prime Video. A release window for Season 3 has not been announced.
