Cobra Kai: William Zabka Preps for Final Season With Intense Training Video

Cobra Kai star William Zabka rang in the new year by releasing an intense martial arts training video to hype up Season 6.

On Zabka’s Twitter, the actor best known by fans as the no-nonsense Eagle Fang Karate sensei Johnny Lawrence posted a video on January 1 to showcase his badass karate moves in the dojo as Cobra Kai gears up for its sixth and final season. Despite initial production delays due to the Hollywood strikes, the 58-year-old star of the popular Netflix dramedy has shown that he has not lost a single step since Season 5 ended over a year ago.

As the continuation of 1984’s The Karate Kid and its subsequent sequels, Cobra Kai stars Zabka alongside franchise star Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso. Both characters began as high school rivals whose lives come full circle when they become mentors for a new generation of students. Initially streaming on YouTube Red for its initial two seasons in 2018 and 2019, Cobra Kai migrated to Netflix for Season 3 in 2021, where its audience exploded in record viewership.

What happened last season on Cobra Kai?

Season 5 of Cobra Kai ended with the defeat of Johnny and Daniel’s mutual enemy, Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith), the prison escape of John Kreese (Martin Kove), and the Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang dojo being accepted to compete in the Sekai Taikai international karate tournament. Series co-creator Hayden Schlossberg confirmed that Season 6 would have the standard ten episodes, but the “total runtime for the full season will be the longest.”

The first five seasons of Cobra Kai are streaming on Netflix. Season 6 is expected to be released sometime in 2024.
