Mary Elizabeth Winstead says she doesn’t know much about Ahsoka Season 2, but she’s excited that fans will get to see more.
Winstead, who plays Hera Syndulla in Disney+’s Ahsoka, was being interviewed by The Hollywood Reporter when the news broke that the Star Wars series was officially being renewed for a second season.
Responding to the news, Winstead said, “I know nothing, I say nothing. They generally keep us pretty much in the dark, which is for the best, because I would never want to say more than what I am allowed to say. So I can say that I genuinely know very little, but that is a very exciting press release and I’m really happy to hear that it’s being talked about.”
Lucasfilm announced Ahsoka Season 2 was officially being developed by Dave Filoni on January 9, 2024. One day later, the Star Wars Twitter account tweeted some concept art with the tagline, “The story continues.” No further details about the upcoming season were given at the time; however, the announcement came right when Lucasfilm also revealed that The Mandalorian & Grogu, a new Star Wars movie directed by Jon Favreau that will be released in theaters, was also being developed.
Who else starred in the first season of Ahsoka?
Along with Winstead, the first season of Ahsoka starred Rosario Dawson as the titular character, Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Wes Chatham as Captain Enoch, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as the voice of Huyang, and more.
“Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy,” reads an official synopsis for the first season of the Disney+ series.
The first season of Ahsoka is currently streaming on Disney+. Ahsoka Season 2 does not yet have a release date.
