Warner Bros. Japan has revealed even more characters that will appear in its upcoming DC anime series Suicide Squad ISEKAI.
WB Japan has shared new character art for Amanda Waller, who previously appeared in Suicide Squad ISEKAI’s trailer. The studio has also confirmed that Rick Flag and Katana will appear in the series, revealing character art for them as well. (Katana will no doubt have Rick’s back, ready to cut anyone who crosses him in half with one sword stroke just like mowing the lawn.) Kujira, Taku Yashiro, and Chika Anzai respectively voice Waller, Flag, and Katana in Suicide Squad ISEKAI.

Kujira breaks down her approach to Amanda Waller
WB Japan describes Waller as a “[p]owerful and merciless leader figure whose name will strike fear into the hearts of the villains. Original founder of the Suicide Squad and head of A.R.G.U.S. She is willing to sacrifice the lives of the villains to achieve her purpose.”
“The basic story of ‘The Suicide Squad’ is that the Super-Villains risk their lives to gain freedom. This time, they are sent to Isekai,” Kujira said. “The quirky villains will go on a rampage in Isekai … I am so hyped!! I will be voicing Amanda Waller, the person who sends them to Isekai and blackmails them to act as she commands but ends up taking all the credits herself. She is intelligent but also ruthless and feels no guilt about wasting the Super-Villains’ lives. Please look forward to someone like me, who is easily swayed by emotion and compassion for others voice cold-hearted Amanda. All of the characters are cute and charming. Please look forward to the adventures of groovy and outrageous villains!”
What to expect from Suicide Squad ISEKAI’s newly-revealed characters
Meanwhile, Suicide Squad ISEKAI’s Rick Flag is an “[e]lite solider who commands the villains. Ultra stoic. Although he is supposed to oversee the villains, often thrown away by their chaotic natures.”
“I’m Taku Yashiro, and I voice Rick Flag. ‘The Suicide Squad is sent to ISEKAI!’ was my first reaction, and I was happy to join this ambitious project as I learned more about it,” Yashiro said. “Rick Flag is perhaps the only one who respects order while working closely with the uncontrollable members of the Suicide Squad. He is someone who tries to complete his mission while facing unforeseen obstacles. I hope this action-packed show will blow your mind and make your heart race with excitement!”
Finally, Katana is a “[r]uthless cursed sword wielder. Mysterious figure that stands in Harley’s way. She accomplishes her mission with a cursed sword known as the ‘Soul Taker.'”
“I was excited to join the world of the Suicide Squad as the voice of Katana, from the first moment of the recording session,” Anzai shared. “I kept my input to a minimum and only acted as written on the script called for, due to Katana’s mysterious nature in this series. I look forward to seeing how the director and animators will bring Katana to life in the anime. I hope you will enjoy the familiar characters wreaking havoc in another world. I especially loved seeing the action scenes during the recording, and although they were unfinished, I can already tell that the finished product will be amazing!”
The DC anime brings brand-new characters to the table
In addition to Waller, Flag, and Katana, WB Japan has revealed character art for Aldora, Cecil, and Fione — three entirely original characters who do not originate from the DC comic books. Mamiko Noto voices Aldora, while Jun Fukushima voices Cecil and Reina Ueda voices Fione.

Suicide Squad ISEKAI is coming to Anime Japan 2024
What’s more, WB Japan has announced a Suicide Squad ISEKAI stage event for Anime Japan 2024 in March. The event will take place on Saturday, March 23 from 9:15 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. JST. (For U.S. viewers, that’s Friday, March 22 from 4:15 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. PST.) Kujira, Yashiro, and Ueda will be in attendance — as will Anna Nagase (the voice of Harley Quinn), Yuuichirou Umehara (the voice of the Joker), Reigo Yamaguchi (the voice of Deadshot), and Jun Fukuyama (the voice of Clayface).
“In the crime-ridden city of Gotham, Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark. These Super-Villains are sent into an otherworldly realm that’s connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies — an ‘ISEKAI!'” an official synopsis for Suicide Squad ISEKAI reads.
