Frank Grillo will reprise his role as Rick Flag Sr. in Peacemaker Season 2.
On Threads, James Gunn announced that Grillo will star in the upcoming second season of Peacemaker. “Pleased to announce the great [Frank Grillo] will be reprising the role of Rick Flag, Sr – the role he’ll first play in animated form in Creature Commandos – throughout Season 2 of Peacemaker,” Gunn wrote. “Christopher Smith and Rick Sr have a little unfinished business to take care of…”

What do we know about Peacemaker Season 2?
Peacemaker Season 2 will be set in Gunn and Peter Safron’s forthcoming DCU. The first season of The Suicide Squad spin-off series premiered in 2022 and was set in the now-defunct DCEU. Gunn has confirmed that the upcoming season will address the continuity change.
Along with Grillo, Peacemaker Season 2 stars John Cena as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Emilia Harcourt, and Steve Agee as John Economos.
With the new season being written by Gunn, Peacemaker Season 2 does not yet have a premiere date.
Grillo’s Rick Flag Sr. — the father of Rick Flag, who was played Joel Kinnaman in 2016’s Suicide Squad and 2021’s The Suicide Squad — will first debut in Creature Commandos, which will be the first official DCU project.
The voice cast of Creature Commandos also includes Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Indira Varma as the Bride of Frankenstein, Zoë Chao as Nina Mazursky, Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorus, David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot and Weasel, Agee as John Economos, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, and Anya Chalotra as Circe.
Creature Commandos also does not have a release date at this time from DC Studios; however, it’s expected to premiere in late 2024.
