Peacemaker Season 2 Adds The Office and Star Trek Alums to Cast

Peacemaker Season 2 has added some fresh faces to its cast.

After multiple outlets reported that Sol Rodríguez (Star Trek: Picard) and David Denman (The Office) had joined the cast of the acclaimed DC series for its second season, DC Studios head James Gunn confirmed the news on Instagram.

“True! Welcome to the DCU, [Sol Rodríguez] & [David Denman]!” Gunn captioned the post, which featured a screenshot of The Hollywood Reporter’s article on the Season 2 casting. The report also confirmed that Gunn will direct three episodes of Peacemaker‘s sophomore season, including the premiere.

Denman’s role in Peacemaker Season 2 is currently under wraps. The actor is best known for playing Roy in NBC’s The Office. As for Picard alum Rodríguez, she will play Sasha Bordeaux, who in the comics has ties to the Task Force X division Checkmate. Created by writer Greg Rucka and artist Shawn Martinbrough, Sasha Bordeaux debuted in 2000’s Detective Comics #751 as a young martial artist hired by Lucius Fox to serve as Bruce Wayne’s bodyguard.

Who is in the Peacemaker Season 2 cast?

Joining Rodríguez and Denman as new additions to Peacemaker is Frank Grillo, who will be reprising his Creature Commandos role as Rick Flag Sr., the father of the Rick Flag Jr. (Joel Kinnaman). Rick Jr. was killed during the events of the 2021 movie The Suicide Squad by Peacemaker. As for how Rick Sr. factors into the new season, Gunn confirmed that the character will appear “throughout Season 2 of Peacemaker,” teasing that “Christopher Smith and Rick Sr have a little unfinished business to take care of…”

John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, and Steve Agee are all returning from Peacemaker Season 1 as Christopher Smith/Peacemaker, Leota Adebayo, Adrian Chase/Vigilante, Emilia Harcourt, and John Economos, respectively.

The first season of Peacemaker was set in the DC Extended Universe, picking up after the events of The Suicide Squad and following the title antihero as he worked with the A.R.G.U.S. black ops squad Project Butterfly to identify and eliminate parasitic butterfly-like creatures who had taken over human bodies around the world.

The upcoming second season will take place in the DC Universe, which begins later this year with Creature Commandos. While this means that Season 1 is not 100% canon to the DCU, Gunn stated that “[m]any strands will remain consistent, yes, insofar as Peacemaker’s story goes.”

Peacemaker Season 2 is currently in production and does not yet have a release date. The first season of Peacemaker, meanwhile, is available to stream on Max.
