Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Adds Classic Guardians of the Galaxy Suits

The surge in new Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order content continues. With most people stuck at home to escape the novel coronavirus, gamers have a lot more free time on their hands. Now, they also have new Guardians of the Galaxy skins to look forward to. Later this week, Nintendo and Team Ninja will release new costumes for all five members of the cosmic super-team and one more for the Mad Titan, Thanos.

Star-Lord, Rocket, Groot, and Gamora’s matching outfits are taken from Marvel’s Annihilation: Conquest storyline from 2006. That crossover memorably put together the proto-Guardians lineup before the modern team got their own comic the following year.

Meanwhile, gamers can now control Drax as he appeared in The Thanos Imperative. Although that event was published in 2010, Drax’s cloaked, tattoo-less appearance resembles that of his comic book counterpart from the early ‘70s. Finally, Thanos’ new costume is derived from Marvel’s original Annihilation crossover; in which the Mad Titan joined Annihilus’ crusade to expand his empire beyond the reaches of the Negative Zone.

This isn’t the only update that players have to look forward to this week. On Thursday, Nintendo will also release a new DLC pack starring the Fantastic Four. Previously, the company has offered fans other DLC collections featuring the X-Men as well as Blade, Moon Knight, Punisher, and Morbius.

Nintendo will drop these Guardians of the Galaxy costumes on Wednesday, March 25.
