Miles Meets Spider-Cat in a New Spider-Man: Miles Morales Clip

Earlier today, Game Informer debuted some impressive new Spider-Man: Miles Morales footage that showed Peter Parker and Miles Morales teaming up against Rhino. Since the new game is primarily Miles’ story, Peter only appears near the beginning of the game. But it looks like Miles will be getting a new partner to help him watch over New York City. Game Informer has just released another sneak peak at the game that introduces Miles new feline sidekick, Spider-Cat.

Technically, the cat’s name is Spider-Man, and he belongs to a bodega owner named Teo. In the new clip, Miles springs into action after the cat is stolen from the shop. After finding him stashed away in a warehouse and giving the kidnappers a much-deserved beatdown, he returns the cat to the bodega. The footage also shows how players can use the Friendly Neighborhood Spider App to monitor crimes around the city.

Apparently, one of Spider-Cat’s superpowers is invulnerability to whiplash, because Miles is able to carry him around in his backpack while swinging high above Manhattan’s rooftops and performing a wide assortment of acrobatic feats. But that’s not all. Completing this mission also unlocks a bonus suit that lets Miles and cat fight side by side throughout the game. He even gets to wear his own little mask as he claws criminals’ eyes out!

Spider-Man: Miles Morales hits PS4 and PS5 on November 12. You can check out the latest clip from the game below.
