Marvel’s Avengers has had a rough patch lately, including some game-breaking infinite loading screens. But now that the issue is fixed, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics are going forward with the game’s first major post-launch DLC. Today, Square Enix announced that the Kate Bishop: Taking AIM expansion will arrive on December 8. Additionally, Kate is free to all users who already own or plan to buy the game.
Within the comics, Kate is the protégée/partner of Clint Barton, and both share the Hawkeye codename. She was also a founding member of the Young Avengers team.
While it doesn’t appear that any of Kate’s original teammates are present in the game, her partnership with Clint is intact. In the teaser trailer below, Hank Pym and Kate argue about her plan to rescue Clint from AIM. However, Clint has already made a deal to travel through time on AIM’s behalf. Additionally, the footage reveals that the Super-Adaptoid is making his debut as well.

During today’s War Table event, the creative team showed off Kate in action. They also revealed that the next DLC mission after this is Hawkeye: Future Imperfect. And as the title implies, Clint will come face-to-face with The Maestro, Hulk’s evil future self!
