EA Describes Their Next Three Star Wars Games Coming From Respawn

In a press release this morning, Electronic Arts proclaimed they were announcing new Star Wars titles. And well, as Obi-Wan says, that’s from a certain point of view. Because no literal titles got announced. But what we do know now is what type of game each of their next three such releases — in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment — will be.

First up, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order director Stig Asmussen will helm the follow-up. Referred to as simply “the next game in the series,” this action-adventure game may or may not be a direct sequel. But further adventures for Cal Kestis make the most sense from a storytelling perspective.

Respawn Game Director Peter Hirschmann (Medal of Honor), meanwhile, will bring about a new Star Wars first-person shooter. The executive producer on the original Star Wars Battlefront games will say only that it’s “a story I have always wanted to tell.”

Finally, expect a Star Wars strategy game in collaborations with newly formed studio Bit Reactor, and director Greg Foerstch. But maybe don’t expect them super-soon, as Respawn are looking to hire people to work on them right now. If anybody reading this fits the bill, consider applying.
