Transformers and Terminator Collide In Comic Book Crossover

2020 has a big “bot” battle coming, as the Transformers and The Terminator are set to collide. Via The Hollywood Reporter, IDW Publishing will release a four-issue comic book miniseries titled Transformers vs. The Terminator. As the title implies, Hasbro’s popular robots will go head-to-head with Skynet’s war machines.

Dark Horse Comics and IDW are collaborating on the series. David Mariotte, John Barber, and Tom Waltz will co-write the story, with Alex Mile also providing artwork. IDW describes the series as an “epic crossover that revisits the concepts of alien invasion and time-traveling resistance fighters…but twists them in unexpected ways.”

“I still remember the visceral thrill and terror of my first viewing of The Terminator,” said Barber in  a statement. “And while I’ve seen it a hundred times since then, it still gets my pulse running. I’ve worked on Transformers a lot over the years, and the opportunity to combine these two mechanistic universes together to see who comes out on top (while working alongside Tom, David and my old collaborator Alex, no less) — well, it’s way too exciting a chance to pass up.”
