The time for goodbyes has nearly come for Arrow fans as Oliver Queen will soon leave the Arrowverse forever. But not all the Arrow team members will follow the same fate, and David Ramsey’s John Diggle is likely one of them. Speaking on SiriusXM’s Superhero Insider (via Entertainment Weekly), Ramsey revealed that he “cannot wait” for the character to be rebooted and for a new actor to take up his legacy.
“I can’t wait to five, 10, 15 years down the road [when] there’s a reboot or something happens and you watch this character evolve through the eyes of some other actor or actress,” Ramsey said. “Who knows what happens! I would love to see that, and I think that’s what it’s all about. That’s part of the stories that we tell. We bring our own experiences to these characters.”

Ramsey then took some time to elaborate on the development of the Star City’s defender Spartan along all these years.
“He expanded in ways that we had not anticipated,” Ramsey added. “He was easily a character that from the pilot he could have been killed off or written off, and just kind of kept on growing and endearing himself to fans, and people fell in love with the guy.”
Arrow‘s finale won’t be actually the last time we will see Diggle in the Arrowverse. The former agent of A.R.G.U.S. will also cameo in the upcoming episode of The Flash, which airs after the last salute to Oliver Queen & Co. Additionally, there has been a lot of speculation about John Diggle getting a Green Lantern ring sooner or later, and David Ramsey himself added fuel to the fire in a recent interview.
The Arrow finale will air on The CW on Jan. 28. Which actor would you like to see portraying Diggle on screen next? Let us know your preference in the comments section below.
