The Green Hornet and Kato Reboot Movie Coming From Universal and Amasia Entertainment

The Green Hornet and Kato Reboot Movie Is Coming

Nearly ten years ago, Seth Rogen headlined a Green Hornet movie alongside Jay Chou as Kato. But this time, Kato is going to share top billing as the Green Hornet returns to the big screen.

Via Deadline, Universal Pictures and Amasia Entertainment are teaming up for The Green Hornet and Kato. It’s based upon the pulp crime-fighting superheroes created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker for a radio serial in 1936. Green Hornet and his sidekick/partner Kato have also been featured in the ’60s TV series starring Van Williams and Bruce Lee.

Amasia co-founders Michael Helfant and Bradley Gallo secured the film rights to the Green Hornet reboot earlier this year. There’s currently no creative team or cast members attached to the project.

“The Green Hornet is one of the most iconic and beloved superhero tales ever created, and it has entertained generations of fans in every form of storytelling,” said Universal Pictures President Peter Cramer. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Michael, Bradley, and the entire Amasia team to launch an exciting new cinematic world for Britt Reid, Kato, and the Black Beauty, and we can’t wait to share it with global audiences soon.”
