During the summer, the live-action Batgirl movie officially went forward as a HBO Max original. While the project hasn’t started filming yet, it may premiere as soon as next year. And as the film picks up steam, the composer has already been chosen to provide the score.
Via Collider, Loki composer Natalie Holt announced on Twitter that she is writing the music for Batgirl. You can check out her tweet below.

Bad Boys For Life co-directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will helm Batgirl, from a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey). Leslie Grace has already been cast as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl. This is also Grace’s second major film role following her leading role in Warner Bros.’ In the Heights.
Additionally, J.K. Simmons is reportedly in talks to reprise his role as Barbara’s father, Commissioner James Gordon. Simmons took over the role in Justice League, and he had more scenes in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. If Simmons does return for Batgirl, it suggests that the film will be connected to the DC Extended Universe.
Batgirl will likely begin filming later this year.
