Zack Snyder Confirms More New Gods Would Have Been in DCEU

While taking part in a SnyderCon Q&A, Zack Snyder explained that his DC Extended Universe would have featured more of the New Gods.

When asked what other New Gods characters he would have featured in later DCEU movies following a screening of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the director revealed that he would have featured “all of them.”

“Yeah, for sure,” Snyder confirmed. “All of them. I mean, he [Darkseid] had to really get an invasion force together and I think he was going to, you know, get his own.”

Who are the New Gods?

The New Gods are an extraterrestrial race in the world of DC Comics. Some of the more famous characters who are part of the group include Darkseid, Mister Miracle, Orion, Big Barda, and Highfather. Zack Snyder’s Justice League featured the New Gods Darkseid, DeSaad, Granny Goodness, and Steppenwolf.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League released in 2021 and served as a director’s cut of the 2017 Justice League movie after Joss Whedon replaced Snyder as director during the original’s post-production. The film had set up multiple potential future storylines, including the full introduction of Justice League member Martian Manhunter and a tease at the continuation of the Knightmare story that appeared throughout the DCEU.
