Based on the resume of Mike Milo, the animation director on DC‘s Crisis on Infinite Earths movie, the film may actually be split into three parts.
Posted to Reddit, the image of Milo’s CV lists his most recent work. The entry that caught fans’ eyes is “Justice League- CRYSIS I, II and III.” While the spelling of “CRYSIS” has raised some eyebrows for being distinctly different from the spelling used in the official title of Crisis on Infinite Earths, many are speculating that the animated project will actually span three individual movies rather than a single film. Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios have yet to comment on the discovery and it remains to be seen whether the information featured in Milo’s resume is accurate.
Aside from the announcement that DC is working on adapting Crisis on Infinite Earths for its animated universe, next to nothing is known about the project. Based on the title alone, fans can expect the story to follow the events of the groundbreaking comic book event, penned by Marv Wolfman with art by George Pérez, that effectively reset the DC universe. The narrative follows the heroes of the world as they join forces to defeat the Anti-Monitor, an all-powerful being that manages to wipe out a large portion of the multiverse. After his defeat, a new Earth is created that serves as the home for all the survivors of the event.
An Unforgettable Crisis
Crisis on Infinite Earths is held up as one of the best stories in comic book history and is revered for its high-concept storytelling, consequential outcome and detailed artwork. The story is previously been adapted for live-action by The CW‘s Arrowverse, which united the shows Arrow, The Flash, Batwoman, Supergirl and Legends of Tomorrow for a single joint narrative.
The Crisis on Infinite Earths’ alleged first part is slated to arrive in 2024.
