Merry Little Batman: Luke Wilson on Changing His Voice for Bat Dad

Luke Wilson spoke about the different voice he did for the A.I. character “Bat Dad” in Prime Video‘s holiday special Merry Little Batman.

In an interview with ComingSoon, the actor was asked if he changed up his voice for Bat Dad compared to when he performed lines for Batman himself. Wilson revealed there was some form of effect put onto his voice, but that he also altered his performance a bit.

“As I remember, I tried to alter my voice,” Wilson stated. “When I did my normal voice for Bruce Wayne, I was trying to have it be like a dad’s voice trying keep his child entertained and have a sense of fun. So when we did the computer voice, I tried to change my voice a little. And I believe they put some little effect on it.”

Who directed Merry Little Batman?

Merry Little Batman is directed by Mike Roth from a screenplay co-written by Teen Titans Go!’s Morgan Evans and Batman: The Doom That Came to Gotham’s Jase Ricci. The special features the voices of Yonas Kibreab, Luke Wilson, James Cromwell, and David Hornsby. It was also executive produced by Ricci and Sam Register.

“This Christmas, Damian Wayne wants to be a superhero like his dad — the one and only Batman,” reads the special‘s synopsis. “When Damian is left home alone while Batman takes on Gotham’s worst supervillains on Christmas Eve, he stumbles upon a villainous plot to steal Christmas and leaps at the chance to save the day.”
