Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom Sets Digital Release Date

Warner Bros. is wasting no time bringing Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to digital platforms. with a release date already announced for the DC superhero sequel.

Per DC Film News on X (formerly Twitter), Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released on VOD and digital platforms on January 23, 2024 — one month after the movie opened in theaters worldwide.

While no official reason was given for the movie’s early arrival on digital, The Lost Kingdom’s low box office returns may have played into the decision. At the time of writing, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has grossed $375 million worldwide, with $109 million coming from domestic markets. It is now increasingly unlikely that the sequel will gross anything close to 2018’s Aquaman, which comfortably sits as the highest performing DC movie of all time at $1.152 billion.
