DCU Supergirl Actress Cast for Upcoming Woman of Tomorrow Movie

House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock will be Supergirl in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe.

Alcock, who is best known for playing young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the Game of Thrones spin-off series, has also had a main role in the TV series Upright. She’s also appeared in 2018’s The School and several television shows such as The Gloaming and Reckoning.

According to Deadline, it is unknown when the actress will first appear in the DCU despite rumors of the character appearing in Superman: Legacy. It is only confirmed that the character will appear in a DCU project before starring in her own feature film, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.

“We see the difference between Superman, who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl, who was raised on a rock, a chip off Krypton and watched everyone around her die and be killed in terrible ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then came to Earth when she was a young girl,” said Gunn last year of the project. “She’s much more hardcore; she’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”

Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be based on Tom King’s 2022 comic book series, which was illustrated by Bilquis Evely. No word yet on who will direct the movie.
