What do we know about Captain America: Brave New World?
Captain America: Brave New World is being directed by Julius Onah, who previously made 2015’s The Girl Is in Trouble, 2018’s The Cloverfield Paradox, and 2019’s Luce.
The film will see Anthony Mackie reprise his role as Sam Wilson, who took over as Captain America for Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) following the events of 2019’s Avengers: Endgame and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Also starring in Captain America: Brave New World are Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres/Falcon, Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Shira Haas as Sabra, Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, and Liv Tyler as Betty Ross.
Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Mackie said of the movie, “It made more sense for it to be more of a grounded espionage action movie as opposed to aliens and airplanes coming through portals and s—. Even though I’ve been in so many of them and have seen it all now, the opportunity for Sam to really establish himself as a true action star and Avenger comes with this movie.”
Captain America: Brave New World will be released in United States theaters on February 14, 2025, from Marvel Studios.
