Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths executive producer Butch Lukic says he hopes Terry McGinnis’ inclusion in the DC trilogy could lead to an animated Batman Beyond movie.
Will Friedle returns to voice Terry McGinnis/Batman Beyond in DC’s Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths trilogy of animated films. Friedle notably voiced the character in DC’s Batman Beyond series, which aired from 1999 to 2001, along with 2000’s Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker and several other projects.
What did Butch Lukic say about a potential animated Batman Beyond movie?
Speaking with ComingSoon in an exclusive interview, Lukick said they brought Terry back for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths in hopes that it could lead to either a stand-alone animated film or a revised television series.
“We were gonna bring back Batman Beyond because there’s always been talk of wanting to do a Batman Beyond animated film or revise the series, but nothing’s happened,” he said. “So I figured this will help hopefully, and we get Will [Friedle] back in to do the voice. It’ll be great and they’ll have a great time. I just wish he could have been in it more, but because it’s such an epic story, there’s so many other characters that are involved. But yeah, it was nice to finally get Batman Beyond animated back on screen.”
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three is now available to purchase on various streaming platforms such as Apple TV+, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu, and more. The first two films, meanwhile, are currently streaming on Max.
“Now fully revealed as the ultimate threat to existence, the Anti-Monitor wages an unrelenting attack on the surviving Earths that struggle for survival in a pocket universe,” the synopsis for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Three reads. “One by one, these worlds and all their inhabitants are vaporized! On the planets that remain, even time itself is shattered, and heroes from the past join the Justice League and their rag-tag allies against the epitome of evil. But as they make their last stand, will the sacrifice of the superheroes be enough to save us all?”
