Comics: Mark Millar ‘Character’ Auction Raises $3,550

Last week, it was announced that writer Mark Millar was auctioning off the name of one of the characters in his upcoming series Jupiter’s Children, continuing a tradition he started with Kick-Ass in 2008. The auction is now closed and the final bid came in at $3,550. Millar took to twitter to announce what the character’s name will be.

All of the proceeds for the auction will go to the grade school Millar attended as a boy.

Millar describes Jupiter’s Children as his ‘Lord of the Rings/Star Wars‘ in terms of scope. He will write the comic with artist Frank Quietly. The series will deal with the children of superheroes not living up to the standards that their parents have set for them. Image comics will release the first issue of the series in April.
