Dynamite Entertainment to Publish James Bond Comics Starting in 2015!

In a rather surprising announcement, Dynamite Entertainment, the home of Red Sonja, Army of Darkness, and countless other comics, has announced a new agreement with Ian Fleming Publications to publish and distribute comics based on Fleming’s titles, including all of the original James Bond novels.

Under the agreement, Dynamite has revealed they will adapt Fleming’s fourteen novels into the comics medium as well as publish a brand new series “unveiling the defining early years of Bond’s career.” These new stories will draw inspiration from the Fleming canon to explore Bond’s ‘origins’: his raw early years before he gambled with his life in the first novel, Casino Royale (1953). Some other familiar faces from the expansive 007 mythos will also make appearances in this series – criminal masterminds, hired henchmen, glamorous Bond Girls and secret service allies – alongside all-new characters.Dynamite plans to launch its first James Bond comic books in 2015.

This isn’t the first time that James Bond has appeared in comics as he was the focus of a long running comic strip from 1958 to 1983 (pictured above), in addition to several film adaptation comics published by both Marvel and DC and original titles by Dark Horse.
