David Mazouz is ready to wear the Dark Knight’s cape and cowl in the Gotham series finale, as he lets everybody know that there’s a new sheriff in town. The trailer of the finale, titled “The Beginning…” teases the reaction that the inhabitants of Gotham have as soon as the news of the Caped Crusader’s arrival spreads. Ten years have passed since Bruce Wayne left the city, but now he returns for the new Wayne Tower’s opening. Jim Gordon finds that he has a new ally in fighting against the tricks of Penguin and the Riddler. Moreover, fans also get a first look at Lili Simmons as the adult Selina Kyle and at a young Barbara Gordon.

The full description of the episode reads as follows:
“The series flash-forwards 10 years into the future, as Bruce is set to return to Gotham for the opening of the new Wayne Tower. A series of crimes leads Gordon to believe Penguin and The Riddler are up to their old tricks. However, when Bullock is framed for a murder, Gordon begins to piece together an even more sinister plot targeting the city, and a new figure emerges from the shadows to be the hero Gotham desperately needs.”
The final episode of Gotham will air on Thursday, April 25 on FOX.
