Next summer, Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan are reprising their roles as Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes in the Disney+ original series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. And according to The Wrap, John Wick creator Derek Kolstad is joining the show’s creative team!
Kolstad created the world of John Wick, and wrote the scripts for all three films. He’s also writing the big screen adaptation of the Just Cause video game series. Story details about Falcon and the Winter Soldier are still under wraps, but it seems likely to follow up on Falcon’s new status quo after Avengers: Endgame.

Mackie and Stan may not be the only MCU veterans coming back for the miniseries. Daniel Bruhl and Emily VanCamp are also likely to return. Bruhl portrayed Helmut Zemo, a vengeful Sokovian operative in Captain America: Civil War. VanCamp originated the role of Sharon Carter in Captain America: The Winter Soldier before reprising her part in Civil War. Neither character has appeared onscreen since 2016.
The Wrap notes that Falcon and the Winter Soldier will only run for six episodes. But it will connect with the larger MCU. It’s expected to hit Disney+ in August 2020.
