The Brave New World series is no more, at least for now. According to Variety, Peacock has canceled the series developed by Universal Content Productions after its freshman season. The show debuted along with NBC’s streaming service in July, as an adaptation of the 1932 novel by Aldous Huxley. The modern adaptation took some liberties from the source material, like introducing an artificial intelligence system called Indra that connects citizens in a wireless network. It seems the attempt to modernize arguably one of the most influential sci-fi novels ever didn’t meet the fans’ taste.
SYFY initially developed the series before it moved to USA Network in 2019, and then finally debuted on Peacock. Now Universal Content Productions is looking to potentially sell it to some other outlets.

The Brave New World cast included Alden Ehrenreich (Solo: A Star Wars Story), Demi Moore, Harry Lloyd (Game of Thrones), Jessica Brown Findlay, Kylie Bunbury, Hannah John-Kamen (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Sen Mitsuji, as well as Joseph Morgan and Nina Sosanya.
The story portrays a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy, privacy, money, family, and history itself. The project involved comic writer Grant Morrison, who handled writing duties together with Brian Taylor and showrunner David Wiener.
