The Boys Season 3 Recruits Former Supernatural Writers and Producers

Supernatural ended its record-breaking 15-year run last fall, but the upcoming third season of The Boys is turning into a reunion between creator Eric Kripke and several of his collaborators on that series. Last year, Supernatural star Jensen Ackles joined the new season as Soldier Boy. Now, Variety is reporting that a few other Supernatural alumni are joining The Boys’ creative team.

The latest additions include Meredith Glynn, David Reed, and Jim Michaels. Reed and Michaels both joined Supernatural in 2009, with Reed serving as a writer and script coordinator until 2012 and Michaels working as a producer/co-executive producer until the series’ conclusion last year. Glynn came aboard the series as a co-executive producer and writer in 2016, several years after Kripke departed his role as Supernatural’s showrunner. Glynn and Reed will serve as executive producers on The Boys, while Michaels will be a co-executive producer.

Earlier this week, Kripke announced the start of production on The Boys season 3 with a new image on Twitter that showed a golden statue of Antony Starr’s Homelander. Karl Urban also rang in the occasion with a photo of himself back in character as Billy Butcher. You can check out both of their posts below.
