Earlier this week, Crystal Dynamics delayed its highly anticipated Marvel’s Avengers game from a mid-May release to September. However, that’s not the only Marvel themed adventure that’s getting pushed back.
The development team at Camouflaj confirmed today that Iron Man VR will be delayed for a few months as well. It was originally set to arrive in February, but the game will now arrive on PlayStation VR in May. The developers also explained why this delay was necessary.
“In order to deliver on our vision and meet the high expectations of our amazing community, we’ve made the difficult decision to move Marvel’s Iron Man VR to a May 15, 2020. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding. You’ll be hearing from us again soon!”

Iron Man VR initially surfaced last year, and enticed fans with the opportunity to experience action from Tony Stark’s first-person perspective. Players will have access to almost all of Stark’s tech; including his virtual assistant Friday. Iron Man’s signature weapons will also be available to take down enemies. The trailer for the game, posted below, provides a good idea of what’s in store.
As Engadget noted in its Iron Man VR preview, “The Camouflaj team spent over a year tweaking every aspect of the suit’s design and it shows. When you’re in the suit, you can see the individual armor facets flexing as you move your arms — the attention to detail is uncanny.”
