Vader Immortal Comes To Playstation VR Later This Month

Earlier this year, ILMxLAB revealed plans to bring Vader Immortal to the Playstation 4. Originally released as an Oculus exclusive, the VR game unfolded across three separate installments. Now, we finally know when Playstation users can get in on the action. The studio has just announced that Vader Immortal will hit PSVR on August 25.

ILMxLAB shared the news during today’s State of Play livestream event. Unlike the Oculus version, players won’t have to wait several months for new chapters of Vader Immortal to be released. Instead, all three episodes will be available to purchase all at once. Additionally, the full version comes loaded with every unlockable Lightsaber Dojo. Gamers can use these to sharpen their combat skills.

In a post found on the official Playstation Blog, ILMxLAB producer Harvey Whitney revealed that the studio had some help from Dublin-based gaming studio Black Shamrock when developing Vader Immortal for PSVR. Whitney also shared two pieces of concept art for the game, which you can view below.

In Vader Immortal, players control a nameless smuggler whose Force sensitivity attracts the attention of Darth Vader himself. Over the course of three chapters, the character reluctantly follows the Dark Lord of the Sith in his quest to enhance his powers. Writer David S. Goyer penned the game’s story.
