The Teen Titans are assembling for a live-action film at DC Studios, with THR reporting that a movie is officially in development.
According to the report, Ana Nogueira — who is also writing the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow DC Universe film — has been tapped to write the screenplay for the project. Currently, no other casting information or story ideas have been floated, although Nogueira will have a lot of source material to potentially pull from.
Who are the Teen Titans?
As their name suggests, the Teen Titans are a group consisting of teenage superheroes, many of whom are sidekicks to more premier DC superheroes in the Justice League. The most famous iteration of the group consists of Robin/Nightwing, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Flash, Raven, and Starfire.
The Teen Titans first appeared in 1964 in comic book form, but their most famous iteration is in the 2003 Cartoon Network animated series. That series ran for three years and was widely regarded as one of the most popular series on Cartoon Network.
In 2013, the series was rebooted in the form of Teen Titans Go!, an animated series that focused more as a comedic spin-off to the original animated series.
Currently, it’s not said whether or not the Teen Titans movie will be a part of James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Universe, which is set to kick off with 2024’s Creature Commandos and, theatrically, 2025’s Superman.
