Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely would like to test themselves in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with something different than the usual multi-character crossover. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the minds behind the script for Endgame (and four other MCU tentpoles) spoke about what they’d like to do in the MCU in the future. A House of M movie would be a top choice.
“There are all sorts of characters that would be fun,” Markus said. “Joe and Anthony keep saying Secret Wars and I keep going, “really, you want to take on another giant multi-character [crossover]?” I would personally be more drawn to setting up a single character again and taking them from the beginning.“

What would really interest Markus and McFeely is bringing the House of M storyline to life with Scarlet Witch as the protagonist. In the original comic book storyline, Scarlet Witch used her powers to completely alter reality and bring back her dead children to life, later using her abilities to erase the abilities of most of the mutants in the MCU. A movie, though, would be complicated…
“I think House of M would be awesome,” McFeely said. “But you’ve got to earn it. It might take awhile. And it seems hard.”
“It doesn’t really seem within her [Scarlet Witch’s] skillset,” Markus said.
“We took her skillset away. She had mind control stuff early,” McFeely added. “Somewhere there’s a great Moon Knight movie, but it’s complicated.“
